In a perfect future world, fully autonomous (LEVEL 4 and 5) autopiloted vehicles make plenty of sense

Review this vision from a TED presenter.
QWC feels OEMs need to Level 3 absolutely perfect and for the real world of unknowns and chaos on our roadways, this is a a great milestone to achieve.  The higher levels of autonomy makes lots of sense on controlled roadways and situations, such as inner city people transport, like above ground buses which can take people from any point A to any point B.  REFERENCE: SAE standard for autonomous autopilot vehicle systems:
Level 3: Only activated/used within known, limited environments (such as freeways), the driver can safely turn their attention away from driving tasks.
Level 4: The automated system can control the vehicle in all but a few environments such as severe weather. The driver must enable the automated system only when it is safe to do so. When enabled, driver attention is not required.
Level 5: Other than setting the destination and starting the system, no human intervention is required. The automatic system can drive to any location where it is legal to drive.
